Reflection Post

Hello! As I was going over my Artwork in class today, I was questioning myself how far I have improved in my Art skills and how far I've become as an artistic student. I have collected some of my art posters and I was impressed! I always kept telling myself that i'm never going to reach the level of my classmates and my friends, but when I took a second and thought of my improvements, I did well :) I think that Art isn't about seeing if you could come up with something extrarodinary, that will make your teacher go "wowo!." I think I can just look at myself and be happy and satisfied with I have done for the past two years. I've also learned that, improvement takes time. You don't have to compare it to other people's art, but as long as you improved then you should be happy with that.

The Tale of A Beautiful Woman

Once up a time there was a woman named Yasmine. Yasmine was a beautiful young woman that loved her life and woke up everyday to a blessed family that God rewarded her with. As a young girl, she always struggled with her personality that she had. Well let's call it 'two personalities' because she had a case of multiple personality disorder. Yasmine always knew that she was different from her classmates and kids that were in her school. Her family however, hardly ever noticed anything and thought she was a normal girl and she'll find who she really is later in her life. As years passed, her disorder was getting worse and worse. She found herself talking to a guy who seemed to know her an awful lot better than she knew him. Yasmine did not even bother to go to a doctor and moved on with her life until one day she met a man that she fell in love with. This man was her soul mate. They fell in love with each other from the first sight and got married later. Her husband knew that she was not like any other woman, and she had multiple personalities but he saw that as a beautiful thing to have. One day Yasmine felt very dizzy and fainted. She then knew something is wrong with her and went to see a doctor. The doctor suggested to get some X-rays and see what goes after that. A week later, Yasmine went to see the doctor that shocked her entirely. The doctor said that you have a disorder called DID which is sometimes confused with schizophrenia that can cause another disease later in life such as cancer. Yasmine was sad and did not know what to do because she never thought she know about it till this age or her family. Running to her house, Yasmine had no hope and thought that the only way would save her from all the suffrage that she is going to go through is by killing herself and she did.

Self Portrait Project

~The week after our winter break, Mrs. Kiick surprised the whole class with a blind self portrait drawing that many of us enjoyed and had fun with. It was a very good idea from my teacher because no one wanted to get out of bed that morning and go back to school. Along with a self portrait, we had to write some things about ourselves and design it to make the drawing not look as bad..haha.

  • Here is my self-portrait and the sentences around it are some of the things I like and enjoy, dream of, want to be in the future, do or not do and things of that nature.

Empty Bowls Project

"Empty Bowls" is a project that is internationally known to fight hunger, customized by artists and art organizations on a community level. It supports food charities around the world and has raised millions of dollars to fight against hunger. We created bowls in all forms and glazed them with different glazes for our big dinner to serve a simple meal.
In exchange for the meal and the bowl, guests give a minimum donation and the money that gets collected that day, goes to local huger-fighting organizations such as, food banks and national and international charitable groups!

This is my bowl that I created and glazed for the charity.
